The three things I need to know to answer my question are-
1. How do the directors make the movie scenes with the figurines? The directors make the movies scenes with the figurines by moving the figurine slightly than take a picture and they keep repeating this process untill the movie is complete.
2. How do the directors make the clay figurines with such great detail?
3. How long does it take to make the figurines and the sets?
4. Where do the directors film the scenes?
5. How do the directors make the figurines eat?

What kind of animation is clay animation?
Clay animation is stop motion animation. Stop motion animation is when the director or helper takes a picture and then moves the figure than takes another picture and repeats the process.
What types of clay animation are there?
1. There is a type of clay animation that is called freeform and during this process the clay that is being used changes "radically."
2. Another type of clay animation is strata-cut which is a loaf like clay. A camera takes a picture of one end of the clay for each slice and that process ends up showing the movement with images within it
3. Clay painting is also a variation of clay animation when clay is put onto a a flat place and people move it so it looks like a painting but it looks like they painted the picture with clay.
Frames
Who many frames does a normal film run?
Normal clay animation films run 24 frames per second. I learned that a 30 min. movie would have 21,600 frames in it. I also learned that a full length 90 min. movie would have 64,800 frames.
Clay
What kind of clay is mostly used in films? The most used clay clay in movies is plasticine clay. Plasticine clay is clay that never dries out so it is perfect for clay animated movies that take a long period of time. Since the clay doesn't dry out they can use the same figure almost every single scene.
Techniques
